For centuries, us humans have used food as a life source beyond sustenance. It connects us – to the land, to the sky, to each other.
Over time, as industrialisation has occurred, our relationship with our food has become distant. Just like our entire lives, the disconnect we experience in every facet, has been a product of the artificial connectivity that has been created.
In a sleepy town within the Sunshine Coast hinterland there is a movement burgeoning. A recognition of this lost connection and a desire to find ways to reconnect – to the land, to the sky, to each other.

re-inventing A mapleton icon
The building for our farm gate is a Mapleton icon; the old forestry shed utilised in the 1930s that until recently, had a very distinct lean. We’ve repaired the shed using only three pieces of new timber, preserving the original integrity and charm.
Stay at smith House
Right next door to our Farm Gate is Smith House – the oldest original house in Mapleton. Beautifully appointed for up to 8 people, the house is the perfect place to get away for the weekend with family or friends.
